Interview - Final Project

I’m interviewing Mohammed Sultan and he’s 87 years old and lives in the UAE; my first question to him was “Tell me anything that was totally amazing and shocking back in the days” and he started discussing about it saying that the hawk hunting was a lot different back in the days. He likes animals especially the hawks in all different breeds. He taught me a thing or two about hawks. And that came to love those hawks not only because it’s his favorite animal but because he said something among those lines “A hawk represents the UAE, it has that fierce look in its eyes which defines us.”
My second question to him was “Did you like those hawks even when you were younger or was it just recently that got you attached to them?” and then he would discuss about the hawks in his younger time along with his wife and that they would enjoy going to the zoo just to witness the beauty of the hawk.
I asked him then “Did you used to own a hawk or maybe two? And if possible could you explain how that experiment was to you?” He mentioned that he kept over 4-5 hawks and that he watched them grow up, sadly though. One of his hawks passed away and his reaction to that was “They may be unique and strong but in the end everything must come to an end” with a little disappointment and sadness showing on his face. As for the other hawks that he kept he had to set them free because he said “I can’t keep them caged forever, they have to witness the beauty that is out there before it’s too late!”

We would sit and laugh together for many hours, but beforehand I asked “Would you still at this day want to get yourself a hawk and if possible could you tell me why?” He answered with a smile to his face “I honestly would love to! But thanks to you, you’ve given me a better idea. We’re holding my son’s birthday this upcoming month so I would love to gift him a hawk instead of getting me one so that he would enjoy what I enjoyed when I owned those hawks back in the day and not to mention to see him fill in the void that the hawks left because still at this, I still feel the sadness but that doesn’t matter! I hope that he would enjoy it haha!” and then I replied to him saying “Haha he would love it without a doubt! Thank you for this meeting Mr. Sultan, I have learned a lot coming from this conversation.  Thank you for your time and I hope that we could do this again and enjoy a conversation such as this again!” and then he said “The pleasure is all mine! I hope that we could do this again sometime soon.”
